Amy Groner, Licensed Massage Therapist
I graduated from Ohio College of Massotherapy in August 2013 with an Associate's Degree. I became registered with the state of Ohio November 2013. I have taken courses in Swedish massage, precision neuromuscular therapy (PNMT), myofascial release (MFR), specialized training in oncology massage therapy, and I am currently holding a level II Reiki certification.
I believe that our bodies need a hands on approach. I am more interested in healing the body without medication and surgery if at all possible.
Massage was always something I was interested in doing, but it was just that...massage. Until I had my own personal injury and discovered that bodywork could actually heal me, not modern medicine, I had not seen its therapeutic value. That is the moment that stays with me.
I have enjoyed this wild rollercoaster ride I have been on the past few years. I was asked to come out to an assisted living facility while I was going to massage therapy school to give the residents relaxation massages. Everything has seemed to have fallen into place from there. In February 2014, I was asked to work on residents at two other nursing homes in the area by their families. I have built wonderful relationships with the residents there. I work out of Massage Therapy Associates, LLC, being able to stay and practice in the Columbiana area that I was born and raised in.
In my free time, I enjoy spending time with my family. In my alone time, I love to go outdoors and run and walk. There's nothing like getting outside and breathing in that fresh air!
